How Can We Support You?
  • At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we understand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re struggling with your mental health — especially when you don’t know where to turn or who to talk to. Sometimes, all it takes is one person who listens without judgment to help us feel seen, heard, and less alone. That’s exactly what our 1:1 Mentoring programme is here for.

Our 1:1 mentoring offers a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space where you can explore whatever is on your mind, at your own pace. Whether you're going through a tough time, feeling isolated, managing anxiety or low mood, or just needing to talk things through with someone who “gets it” — our mentoring service is here to walk beside you.

    What Makes MOM Mentoring Different?

Unlike clinical therapy or short appointments, our mentoring is grounded in peer support, compassion, and lived experience. Our mentors are a combination of trained volunteers and professionals who have walked their own mental health journeys. Many know firsthand what it feels like to feel stuck, unheard, or overwhelmed by life — and they bring that understanding into every conversation.

This isn’t about giving advice or trying to “fix” you — it’s about creating space for you to speak freely, without fear of being judged, dismissed, or misunderstood. It’s about building trust, meeting you where you’re at, and walking with you — one conversation at a time.

We believe that healing happens in connection, not isolation.

What to Expect from 1:1 Mentoring:

    • A dedicated mentor who will offer regular one-to-one conversations either in-person, online, or by phone (based on availability and access needs).

    • Someone who will listen without judgment, and support you in exploring your feelings, thoughts, and challenges in a safe way.

    • A flexible and human approach — we don't rush, diagnose, or pressure. We're here to hold space and support your journey.

    • Emotional support, encouragement, and understanding — especially if you’re feeling lost, alone, or disconnected.

    • Access to additional MOM services, peer groups, and workshops if and when you're ready.

    Who Is It For?

Our mentoring programme is open to anyone aged 18 and over who is experiencing mental health challenges or emotional distress. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral. You just need to want someone to walk alongside you.

    We particularly welcome those who:

    • Have felt overlooked by traditional services

    • Are navigating mental health for the first time

    • Come from marginalised or underserved communities

    • Are waiting for formal mental health support and need help in the meantime

    • Simply want someone to talk to — and be heard

    How to Access the Service

To access 1:1 mentoring, please email us at: admin@managingourmental.org.uk

We will send you a short registration form to complete. Once submitted, you will be added to our waiting list and matched with a mentor as soon as one becomes available.

Due to the high demand and the personalised nature of this service, there may be a short wait — but we’re committed to ensuring that everyone who reaches out is supported.

    Why We Do This

We know that life can be messy. That sometimes it’s hard to explain what you're feeling. That traditional services don’t always feel safe or relatable. That you might feel like you're “too much” or “not enough” to ask for help.

At MOM, we believe you are always enough — and you are never alone.
Our mentoring programme was built to reflect the power of human connection, deep listening, and shared understanding. It’s part of our wider mission to create community-based mental health support that feels human, kind, and accessible.

Real Conversations. Real People. Real Support.

Whether you’re in a moment of crisis, feeling low, or simply need a safe space to share what’s on your mind — we’re here.

Reach out today, and take that first step toward being heard.
Because mental health isn’t just about treatment — it’s about connection, compassion, and knowing you don’t have to do it all on your own.

  • Many men grow up being told to “man up,” “stay strong,” or “keep it to yourself.” At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we’re here to change that narrative — because we know the incredible strength it takes to be honest, vulnerable, and real about your mental health.

Our Men’s Talking Group is a confidential, welcoming space for men of all ages and backgrounds to come together, speak openly, and connect without judgment. Whether you're navigating stress, loneliness, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, or simply need somewhere to talk — this space is for you.

    Why It Matters

Far too often, men are left to struggle in silence. Many feel pressure to appear “okay,” even when they're overwhelmed. Our talking group is a chance to step out of isolation and into community. It’s about normalising men’s emotional health — and creating a brotherhood of support.

We know that opening up isn’t always easy. That’s why our sessions are led by trained facilitators and peer volunteers with lived experience — men who understand what it's like to carry silent burdens and who know the power of being listened to.

    What to Expect:

    • A safe, non-judgmental group space where you can talk (or just listen) — there’s never any pressure to share.

    • Peer-led conversations guided by trained men who have walked their own mental health journeys.

    • Weekly or fortnightly meetups in a relaxed, confidential setting (in person or online).

    • Opportunities to build confidence, develop coping tools, and form meaningful connections with other men.

    • Occasional guest speakers or creative workshops (e.g. journaling, music, men’s wellbeing days) to explore emotional health in different ways.

    Who Can Join?

Our group is open to anyone identifying as male, aged 18 and over. Whether you’re new to mental health support or have joined groups before, you're welcome here — as you are. No referrals, no judgment, no pressure.

    We especially encourage men who:

    • Have never spoken about mental health before

    • Feel isolated or disconnected

    • Are from communities where mental health stigma is still strong

    • Are seeking brotherhood, understanding, and tools for emotional wellbeing

    How to Join

📧 To join the Men’s Talking Group, email us at:
    admin@managingourmental.org.uk
    Subject: Men’s Group Registration

We’ll get back to you with session details and a short registration form.
All new participants are welcomed with care — you don’t have to face things alone.

Together, We Talk. Together, We Heal.

This isn’t therapy — it’s real talk in a real space. Sometimes just knowing you’re not the only one can make all the difference.

Come as you are. Speak when you’re ready. You’re not alone.

Psychoeducational Workshops – Tools for Understanding, Healing, and Growth

At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we believe that knowledge is a powerful part of recovery. Our Psychoeducational Workshops are designed to equip people with practical tools, mental health knowledge, and emotional skills to better understand themselves and others.

These workshops aren’t lectures — they’re interactive, welcoming sessions rooted in real-life experience and inclusive language. We break down complex topics into easy-to-understand conversations, making mental health education accessible, engaging, and empowering for all.

    What Is Psychoeducation?

    Psychoeducation helps people learn about:

    • How mental health works

    • The impact of stress, anxiety, and trauma

    • Common mental health conditions

    • Coping strategies and self-regulation

    • Healthy relationships and boundaries

    • Managing emotions and building resilience

Our workshops offer practical learning with a personal touch, combining psychological insight with lived experience, storytelling, and creative reflection.

    What to Expect:

    • Interactive sessions led by trained facilitators and peer educators with personal mental health experience.

    • Workshop themes that rotate and evolve — covering topics like Understanding Anxiety, Building Emotional Resilience, Navigating Depression, Boundaries & Burnout, Men’s Mental Health, Self-Esteem & Identity, and more.

    • A chance to share your voice (if you want to) and connect with others going through similar challenges.

    • Creative and reflective elements, including journaling prompts, music, group discussion, and accessible take-home resources.

    • Safe, inclusive environments where curiosity is encouraged and there are no “wrong” questions.

  • At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we believe that every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and supported — not just in times of crisis, but in everyday life. Our Women’s Talking Group is a safe, supportive, and empowering space where women from all walks of life can come together to talk, listen, connect, and simply be.
Whether you’re navigating the pressures of daily life, working through trauma, juggling care responsibilities, recovering from anxiety or depression, or just seeking genuine connection — this space is for you.

    Why We Created This Space
Women often carry an invisible weight. They may care for others while neglecting their own needs. They may feel pressure to stay strong, hold it together, or keep things hidden. We know that too many women suffer in silence — and we’re here to change that.
Our Women’s Talking Group offers a space to breathe, exhale, and speak freely. A space where your experiences are honoured, your pain is not dismissed, and your voice matters. It is not therapy — but it is healing through connection.
Led by trained female facilitators with lived experience, the group fosters a powerful sense of solidarity and sisterhood — because sometimes the most healing words you can hear are:
    “Me too. I’ve been there.”

    What to Expect:

    • A warm, confidential environment where you can share as little or as much as you’d like — there is never pressure to speak.

    • Weekly or fortnightly group sessions, in-person or online, depending on accessibility and community needs.

    • Peer-led conversations, guided by women who understand what it’s like to carry emotional burdens quietly.

    • Opportunities to talk about real-life issues — such as stress, trauma, relationships, motherhood, self-esteem, work-life balance, and more — in a space of mutual care.

    • Creative elements like reflective writing, music, or mindfulness — introduced occasionally to support emotional expression.

    • A growing community of women supporting women — with understanding, humour, grace, and strength.

    Who Is It For?
Our Women’s Talking Group is open to anyone identifying as a woman, aged 18 and over. Whether you’re brand new to group support or you’ve attended something similar before, you are welcome just as you are.
    We especially welcome women who:

    • Feel isolated, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted

    • Are struggling with mental health or recovery from trauma

    • Come from communities where mental health isn’t often discussed

    • Are seeking connection and community with other women

    • Want to explore their emotions in a safe and supportive space

    How to Join
📧 To register for the Women’s Talking Group, email:
    admin@managingourmental.org.uk
    Subject: Women’s Group Registration

We’ll respond with group times, locations, and a short form to help us understand your support needs.
All new participants are welcomed with care and confidentiality.

You Are Not Alone. You Are Not Too Much. Your Voice Matters.
Our group is here to remind you that you don’t have to carry everything on your own. That your story is worth sharing, your emotions are valid, and your presence is valued.
This is a space where healing happens not through fixing, but through listening, relating, and rising together.
Come as you are. We’ll meet you there.

  • Being young in today’s world isn’t easy. From social pressure, identity struggles, anxiety, and trauma, to navigating relationships, education, and future uncertainty — it can feel overwhelming to process everything life throws your way.

That’s why at Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we’ve created a dedicated Under 25s Talking Group — a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for young people of all genders to come together, talk openly, and support one another.

This isn’t school. This isn’t therapy. This is real talk with real people, guided by facilitators who get it, many of whom have lived through similar challenges themselves.

    Why It Matters

We know that a lot of young people don’t feel comfortable speaking to professionals, parents, or teachers about what they’re going through. You might feel like no one understands, or that your problems aren’t “big enough” to talk about.

But the truth is: if it’s bothering you, it matters — and you deserve support.

This group gives young people the chance to:

    • Talk openly and honestly about mental health, identity, emotions, and life challenges

    • Feel accepted and respected, no matter where they’re coming from or what they’re feeling

    • Connect with peers in a meaningful way — without the pressure to “have it all figured out”

    • Hear from others and realise you’re not the only one feeling the way you do

    What to Expect:

    • Weekly or fortnightly group sessions, held in a relaxed, inclusive setting (in person or online)

    • Safe, facilitated conversations led by trained youth mentors and facilitators with lived experience

    • A mix of discussion, reflection, creativity, and connection — with occasional guest speakers or themed sessions

    • Space to talk about anything: anxiety, depression, identity, stress, family, friendships, self-esteem, body image, relationships, the future — nothing is off-limits

    • A community where you can show up as you are — and be accepted just as that

    Who Is It For?

This group is open to anyone aged 16–25, of any gender identity, background, or mental health experience. Whether you’re struggling, feeling stuck, or just need people to talk to who understand — this space is for you.

    We especially welcome:

    • Young people who’ve never accessed mental health support before

    • LGBTQI+ youth and people from underrepresented backgrounds

    • Students, care leavers, young carers, NEET youth, and anyone who feels disconnected

    • Anyone tired of “keeping it all inside” and ready to connect

    How to Join

📧 To join the Under 25s Talking Group, email:
    admin@managingourmental.org.uk
    Subject: Under 25s Group Registration

You’ll be sent a short registration form, and added to our next available group session.
All sessions are free to attend, and no prior experience or referral is needed.

You Don’t Have to Figure It All Out Alone

It’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to ask questions. And it’s more than okay to want support.

At MOM, we believe that young people deserve safe spaces where they can be real, explore emotions, ask for help, and feel less alone. This group is here to remind you: you matter, and your voice deserves space.

Come through. Bring your whole self. You’re welcome here.

  • At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we believe everyone deserves a space where they can show up as their whole selves — without fear, without shame, and without having to explain who they are or why they matter.

Our LGBTQI+ Talking Group is a dedicated peer-led space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, non-binary, and questioning individuals to come together in community, connection, and care. Whether you're navigating mental health challenges, identity journeys, or simply seeking a space where you can breathe and be, this group is here for you.

    Why It Matters

Too often, LGBTQI+ people face stigma, rejection, misunderstanding, and discrimination — in families, communities, workplaces, or even health services. These experiences can deeply impact mental health and leave individuals feeling isolated or unseen.

Our talking group was created in response to that reality. It is led by LGBTQI+ facilitators and volunteers with lived experience, who understand the unique challenges — and the incredible strength — that exist within our community.

This isn’t therapy. This is a space for real talk, shared experience, and mutual support. A space where your gender, identity, or sexuality is never up for debate, and where who you are is always enough.

    What to Expect:

    • A safe, supportive, and confidential environment where you can speak openly or just listen — there's no pressure to share.

    • Regular group meetups (in-person and/or online), facilitated by LGBTQI+ team members with training and lived experience.

    • Discussions around mental health, identity, coming out, relationships, gender euphoria/dysphoria, self-worth, discrimination, joy, love, and more — you shape the conversations.

    • Occasional themed sessions, guest facilitators, or creative activities (e.g. storytelling, journaling, self-care practices).

    • A space for community-building and collective healing — where solidarity replaces stigma, and self-expression is celebrated.

    Who Is It For?

This group is open to anyone aged 18+ who identifies as part of the LGBTQI+ spectrum or is questioning their identity and seeking a supportive space.

    We especially welcome:

    • LGBTQI+ individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, isolation, or emotional distress

    • Those who feel unsafe or unsupported in other mental health spaces

    • People navigating intersectional experiences (e.g. LGBTQI+ and BIPOC, neurodiverse, disabled, or migrant identities)

    • Individuals at any stage of their journey — whether just beginning to explore or long-standing community members

    How to Join

📧 To register for the LGBTQI+ Talking Group, email:
    admin@managingourmental.org.uk
    Subject: LGBTQI+ Group Registration

You’ll receive a short registration form, group details, and a warm welcome to our next available session. There is no charge, and no formal referral is needed.

Be Seen. Be Safe. Be You.

Your story matters. Your identity is valid. You deserve care, connection, and a space to speak freely — and that’s what this group offers.

Whether you’re thriving, surviving, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
Come as you are — we’ll meet you with open arms.

  • At Managing Our Mental (MOM CIC), we believe that mental health support should not be left only to professionals — it should be part of everyday life. That’s why we offer accredited mental health training designed to equip individuals, community members, and organisations with the tools to recognise, understand, and respond to mental health challenges with confidence and care.

Our training is not just about ticking boxes — it’s about empowering people to create real change in their communities, workplaces, schools, and homes. Whether you're a parent, frontline worker, student, volunteer, or someone with lived experience, our training offers practical, life-enhancing knowledge that makes a difference.

    Why It Matters

Mental health challenges affect 1 in 4 people every year — yet many still don’t know how to recognise the signs or support someone in need.

By offering accessible, accredited training, MOM aims to:

    • Demystify mental health and reduce stigma

    • Equip everyday people with practical knowledge and confidence

    • Build a network of mental health champions in local communities

    • Strengthen the mental health workforce with culturally conscious, trauma-informed practice

    • Create ripple effects of care, understanding, and prevention

Our model ensures that training is relatable, relevant, and rooted in real stories — not just statistics.

    Delivery & Accessibility

    • Courses are offered in person, online, or hybrid to suit individual and organisational needs.

    • We provide certification on completion (for MHFA and selected workshops).

    • Training can be booked by individuals or commissioned by organisations, charities, schools, and local authorities.

Make A Donation

At MOM (Managing Our Mental), we believe that meaningful change in mental health can only happen when communities, organisations, and individuals come together with a shared purpose. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), partnerships are at the heart of everything we do.

Our sponsors and partners play a vital role in helping us deliver programmes that tackle stigma, provide accessible support, and create safe spaces for those navigating their mental health journeys. Their backing allows us to innovate, grow, and reach people who might otherwise be left without the care or understanding they deserve.

Every partnership is more than financial support — it is a collaboration built on shared values of compassion, dignity, and resilience. Together, we amplify voices, break down barriers, and create real, lasting impact in the lives of individuals and families across our communities.

We are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us by our partners and sponsors. Their commitment strengthens our mission and demonstrates that when organisations and communities work side by side, mental health support becomes not just possible, but powerful.
